THIS KITTEN WAS RAISED BY DOGS AND NOW THINKS HE'S PART OF THE PACK

Everyone knows that cats and dogs are natural enemies, but a loving family has become the exception to the rule. This is Azmael, a rescued cat, and his brothers, Nimue, an old German shepherd, and Liam, a white Swiss shepherd. These three love each other very much — so much that Azmael behaves just like his doggy friends.

Azmael was adopted some years ago, when he was found seriously injured in the middle of the road. His owner, Nathalie (Doudouisawesome on Reddit ), and her husband took him to the vet in the hope that he would survive. Fortunately, he got through and was taken home. “The first day the kitten was in our house, we noticed that it only had eyes for Liam, our Swiss shepherd,” Nathalie tells My Modern Met. “At first, the dog wasn't sure what he was supposed to do with this little creature— Is it food? A new toy? —But after a few hours he decided he was a new friend.

Liam began taking care of Azmael, and thus, they became best friends. "They have a very special relationship," says Nathalie. "The kitten decided that our dog was the best pillow in the world." Before long, Azmael started playing with Nimue, the other dog in the family, and since then the three of them have been inseparable.

“Almost every morning, the cat is used on our walk,” Nathalie recounts. "It's like we have three dogs." Azmael is very brave when it comes to facing something that could threaten his nine lives. "We have to be careful because Azmael still doesn't pay attention to the cars on the street, so we have to quickly grab him and load him if we see a car coming," says Nathalie. "He's not afraid of other dogs and even scares them away when they bother our dogs."

Azmael is not the only cat that Liam and Nimue have adopted. Last year, Nathalie's husband — a firefighter who loves helping people and animals alike — brought another cat into the house. The dogs also helped raise her. "It was mainly Nimue, our German shepherd, with that very particular cat," says Nathalie. "Now, a year later, they still play together almost daily."
