LEARN TO COOK CORN OR CORN AS IT SHOULD


 

Like most of the foods we eat, it is vitally important to know whether they are fresh or not. The same happens with corn or corn since experts recommend that it should be as fresh as possible. So much so that the consumption time after harvest should not exceed 4 hours, all this in order to preserve all its flavor and aroma.

Not being able to do the 4-hour thing, for obvious reasons, what we can do is not take too long to boil the corn after buying it. The important thing is to know that all these recommendations have a reason for being since corn grains undergo a chemical reaction immediately after being harvested and that is that the sugar turns into starch.

That is the reason, then in order to enjoy a juicy, tender, and sweet corn, it is only necessary to add 2 more ingredients to the pot, in addition to water and salt and these are milk and butter.

The ingredients are :

  • 5 Corn or Corn
  • 600 ml of water
  • 1 liter of milk
  • 80 gr. butter
  • Salt
  • A few sprigs of thyme (optional)

preparation:

1. clean the corn, removing the soil and leaves, dividing them in half if necessary

2.In a deep pot pour the water and milk. Then add butter, sprigs of rosemary, and salt.

3.When the milk begins to boil, add the corn and let it boil for 10 minutes.

I have listened to those who have tried this way of preparing them and in comparison to the traditional cooking of water and salt, they assure that they will not eat corn otherwise. So now you know, to eat delicious corn.
